According to reports, Unai Emery is interested in the Bayern Munich midfielder.
Arsenal appointed Unai Emery only last week, but the Spanish manager has already started identifying potential transfer targets. With deals for Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Stephan Lichtsteiner already in place, Arsenal have entered the transfer market for a midfielder.
According to reports, Arsenal have expressed interest in signing Corentin Tolisso from Bayern Munich. The French midfielder joined the Bundesliga champions only last season, in a fee worth £36.5 million.
In his first season at Bayern, Tolisso scored 10 goals, and bagged seven assists. Calciomercato has also reported that Arsenal are willing to spend £60 million to bring the midfielder to London.
Arsenal have moved for the midfielder as unease over the futures of present midfielders, Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey continues to grow. Wilshere’s contract expires at the end of the season and a new contract is yet to be agreed upon. While Ramsey still has one year remaining in his contract, the doubts over his future still persist.
Arsenal finished a disappointing 6th last season, as the club failed to qualify for the Champions League for second season in a row. The Gunners also lost in the semifinal of the Europa League to eventual winners Atletico Madrid.
