Latest reports from England have claimed that Arsenal are looking to land the signatures of Alberto Moreno. The Liverpool left back has not been involved too much in the last two seasons under Jurgen Klopp despite making 134 appearances for the Reds since his arrival at the Anfield in 2014.
Andrew Robertson has made an astonishing surge and is the indispensable choice at left back for Liverpool. Moreno’s playing time has been severely restricted and with the Spaniard being in the final years of his contract, Klopp is ready to allow him to go by the end of the year amid high expectations from academy prospect Adam Lewis who will play second fiddle to Robertson.
Moreno will be a free agent from July and Unai Emery is on high alert. The former Paris Saint-Germain gaffer shared a great relationship with Alberto Moreno during their time together in Sevilla. The current Arsenal manager is now keen on reuniting with a player who formed an integral part of the squad during his time in Andalusia.
Arsenal already have Sead Kolasinac and Nacho Monreal at their disposal, but the Bosnian has been having persistent injury issues and has fallen way below in the pecking order as Emery prefers Ainsley Maitland-Niles over him. The 21 year old is primarily a midfielder though, so Emery wants a natural full back for the long term.
The Gunners are currently on a winning run of 9 matches under Emery and are eyeing for their 10th straight victory when they host Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium. Emery will be hoping to land Moreno at the end of this season for absolutely free but will face stern competition from Real Madrid and Barcelona who have been monitoring his situation on Merseyside too.
