Arsenal predicted line up vs Watford

Arsenal will travel to Vicarage Road to take on Watford in a crucial Premier League tie on Monday night. We take a look at the Arsenal predicted line up vs Watford.

Unai Emery’s men will travel to Watford in a vital Premier League clash on Monday night.

Arsenal are currently at the fifth place in the Premier League and are in the fight for the top-4 positions. However, the situation has changed considerably in the last week.

The Gunners’ away form has been a huge issue for the side throughout the season. Arsenal have lost seven away games this season, scoring only 19 points from 15 away fixtures. The side lost their previous game to Everton at Goodison Park as well, which further aggravates their concerns.

Arsenal registered a 2-0 win over Napoli in the first leg of the Europa League quarterfinal earlier this week. Unai Emery’s comments in the post-match conference signified that the side might be inclined to place its priority on the European competition to secure a place in the Champions League next season.

“The players finished tired because they worked a lot,” Emery said after the game. “On Monday, I am sure we are going to play different players but [try] to find the same performance. Some players after playing with this demanding performance physically, maybe we need something different,” the Gunners boss said.

And so, we might see some changes in the side for the clash against Watford. Let’s take a look at the Arsenal predicted line up vs Watford.

Arsenal predicted line up vs Watford:

Goalkeeper: Bernd Leno

Leno has been putting decent displays in front of the goal, and as Arsenal faces another tough away fixture, Unai Emery would expect his goalkeeper to be in top form for the game.

Defence: Monreal, Mustafi, Koscielny

Arsenal received a significant blow with a two-game suspension for Sokratis, and so, expect Unai Emery to play a three-man central defence for the game. Shkodran Mustafi has been inconsistent in his performances, but Arsenal’s lack of options means that the German will start in this game.

Midfield: Maitland-Niles, Torreira, Guendouzi, Kolasinac

Lucas Torreira’s return from a three-game suspension is a massive boost for Unai Emery as he heads into this game. The Uruguayan midfielder gave an injury-scare towards the closing stages of the game against Napoli, but he is not included in the injury list for the game against Watford.

With Granit Xhaka a doubt for the game, Matteo Guendouzi will get a nod. Maitland-Niles and Kolasinac will be the two wing-backs.

Attack: Iwobi, Mkhitaryan, Lacazette

Alexandre Lacazette is expected to play the role of a sole striker in this game, with Iwobi and Mkhitaryan behind him.

Mkhitaryan has been impressive for Arsenal in the last few games, and Unai Emery would want to rest the likes of Ozil and Aubameyang for the second leg against Napoli.
