Arsenal Transfer News: Barcelona superstar snubs Arsenal interests to stay in Nou Camp

Arsenal Transfer News: Barcelona superstar snubs Arsenal interests to land French International at the Emirates to stay at the club.

Samuel Umtiti remained out of favours from Ernesto Valverde after being away from regular game-time, while suffering from fitness iues and going lower in the pecking order due to phenomenal form of Clement Lenglet.

Thus, the French International was speculated to leave the club this summer, after not getting enough time on the pitch last season, even after coming back from injuries.

Thus, Arsenal were vying to hire the services of Umtiti from Barcelona this summer. However, in recent advancements, according to a report by the Goal, Umtiti has snubbed interests by Arsenal and decided to remain at Barcelona.

In a conversation with Hypebeast, Umtiti has discussed about his future with the Catalan giants, and clarified his departure speculations.

“The quality of life is great. For me, it’s the best place to play and live. The place, the mentality of the people, my team, the players that I meet daily, frankly I could not have dreamt of better.”

“Every day I feel happy to live my passion, and what’s more to do that here in Barcelona. The adaptation went very well, I was very well received.

“They were very cool with me, even though I did not speak too much Spanish we managed to understand each other and everyone helped me a lot.”

It seems, with failure in negotiating a deal with Matthijs De Ligt, Umtiti views himself in the plans of Barcelona next season. Thus, giving him the reason to stay.

Although, the reported budget by Arsenal would not have allowed them to match the release clause of Umtiti, as it is way beyond than what they are willing to spend overall this summer.
