Arsenal Transfer News: Celtic accept Arsenal’s bid for Kieran Tierney. The Full back will now travel to London to discuss personal terms.

Arsenal have bought in key signings through the summer. They have bought in the likes of Nicolas Pepe and Dani Ceballos. However, they were yet to make a defensive recruitment. Things are set to change though as SkySports have reported that Arsenal have agreed a fee with Celtic over the transfer of defender Kieran Tierney.

The Left-back is set to sign with the club ahead of the transfer deadline and will head to London to that effect. He will become Unai Emery’s 5th signing of the summer and will join forward Gabriel Martinelli, winger Nicolas Pepe, centre-back William Saliba and midfielder Dani Ceballos.

Arsenal had two of their previous bids for Tierney rejected by Tierney. Arsenal had offered £25m previously. However, it contained too many add-ons that were dependent on the Gunners playing in the champions league; A possibility that Celtic severely doubted. BBC have reported that Arsenal will now pay the £25m, a Scottish transfer record.

Kieran Tierney has played all his life at Celtic. He came through their youth system and has won four league titles, two Scottish Cups and two League Cups with them. Tierney is an excellent prospect for Arsenal. He has all the tools to succeed at the club and flourish at North London.

Tierney is currently side-lined following an operation on a double hernia. However, that hasn’t stopped Emery from pursuing him all summer. An announcement regarding the signing should be made soon.
