Arsenal Transfer News: Unai Emery set to offload six players in summer window

Unai Emery has decided to offload six players in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal’s failure to finish in the top four might be erased, but they have hopes in the Europa League. The Gunners are currently leading 3-1 against Valencia, and will travel to Mestalla Stadium for the second leg this Thursday.

After the draw at the Emirates to Brighton and Hove Albion, Unai Emery, who has expertised Europa League before, has claimed that the whole squad will concentrate solely on that competition to qualify for the Champions League. The Gunners will have a greater chance of spending big if they manage to qualify for the European elite competition.

Aaron Ramsey, Danny Welbeck, and Petr Cech have confirmed their departures from the club as free agents. Apart from those three, Unai Emery is ready to cash in on five players to stabilize the club. The form up front has not been a problem for the Gunners, but the defence has been a calamity more often than not and the midfield has been inconsistent.

According to the Goal, It is understood that Unai Emery is ready to sell Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Mohamed ElNeny, Carl Jenkinson, Stephan Leichsteiner, and Shkodran Mustafi in the summer transfer window to generate funds. The Spanish International wants the players who would fit his philosophy.

Mesut Ozil’s inconsistency over the last three years have been outlined by the media, and the German International struggles from the same problem under the new manager this season. The German International had an offer from Paris Saint Germain the winter transfer window, but he decided against that move.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Mohamed ElNeny, Stephan Leichsteiner, and Shkodran Mustafi have not hit the heights expected from them since they joined the Gunners. Carl Jenkinson has plagued with injuries over the last few seasons. They have had limited time on the pitch and Emery wants to clear them out, even though the belief around the club is that those players will attract very fewer suitors.
