Arsenal Transfer News: Unai Emery targets to land French defender this summer

Arsenal Transfer News: Unai Emery targeting to land young French sensation Presnel Kimpembe from PSG this season to bolster his squad.

Unai Emery is seeking to find reinforcements in order to bolster his squad for next season, after a disappointing season in the Premier league and underwhelming display against Chelsea in the final of Europa league, which led to a massive defeat.

Thus, according to a report by Le10Sport, PSG are looking to offload Presnel Kimpembe this summer, after allegedly falling out with Les Parisiens starlet Neymar.

Hence, Unai Emery, who has previously coached the French International has shown interest in re-uniting with him by landing him at the Emirates this summer.

Arsenal are amidst a squad overhaul, as they seek to challenge for top-4 once again, and since Laurent Koscielny is set to leave the club and underwhelming performances by Shkodran Mustafi has compelled the Spanish coach to find replacements.

Emery have good relations with Kimpembe, and has guided during his time at PSG, thus keeps a lot of faith in the 23-year-old defender, making him a viable option in the North London club.

However, Arsenal reportedly have a really tight budget this summer of around £45-50 million, and Kimpembe might cost them around £35 million, which is a huge chunk out of the total budget.

Considering, Arsenal have further areas to fulfill, the club either have to drop the plan or need to negotiate with the French giants.

It is further reported that Emery has advised Arsenal’s board to go ahead with the £35 million plan for Kimpembe, as the Gunners’ coach believes that the French defender will solve the defensive problems for the club for long term.
