WATCH Presnel Kimpembe Pulls Off Worldclass Tackle Despite Being Injured: The PSG CB was responsible for quashing a quick attacking break for Lille

Up against Lille in a battle to determine second place in Ligue 1, PSG knew they needed to be at their best if they were to salvage anything from the encounter. Where PSG were regressing as a team, Lille were giving a good account of themselves to sit in second place ahead of the showdown.

And had it not been for defender Presnel Kimpembe, PSG would have ended up succumbing to a likely defeat on the day. The club found itself in a pickle as Lille’s searing speed saw them burn through PSG’s backline on the break with the club seeing four of its attackers up against the lone figure of Kimpembe.

Looking certain to take a 1-0 lead on the night, Lille were left in angst as Kimpembe pulled off one of the tackles of the year. Despite ending up on the ground after pulling up his hamstring, Kimpembe refused to let matters get out of his hands as he threw in a last ditch tackle to break up Lille’s attack.

The tackle was not only a gritty and well cured one but a block which grew in stature owing to Kimpembe injury. The CB has since been massively lauded for his tenacity and resolve with lovers of the game appreciating his commitment to his side’s cause.

The tackle proved to be a game saving one for PSG with the club managing to scamper its way to a draw on the night, one which continues to leave them just the solitary point behind Lille. However, PSG will be well aware that they can’t afford to rely on individual players pulling off bits of brilliance coming up if they are to wipe the deficit separating them from top spot in the league.

The 0-0 draw meanwhile was enough to take Lyon into first place in the points tally. The club is currently above Lyon on basis of goal difference despite both the clubs having 33 points. PSG follow in third place with 32 points.
