Aubameyang’s preferred position: Arsenal will take on Manchester City in a heavyweight Premier League clash this weekend.
Arsenal are currently fourth in the Premier League table. The side will take on Manchester City this weekend, who faced a stunning 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United earlier this week.
Guardiola’s side is five points behind league leaders Liverpool and will aim to return to winning ways against Arsenal, who have been relatively sloppy in the last few weeks.
Arsenal were knocked out of the FA Cup in the fourth round by Manchester United. However, Chelsea’s shocking 4-0 loss in the mid-week fixture against Bournemouth helped them return to the top four in the league.
Meanwhile, Aubameyang, who is currently the top goalscorer of the side, sent a message to Unai Emery over his preferred playing position as Arsenal prepare for the Man City clash.
Aubameyang’s preferred position:
The Arsenal attacker, in a detailed interview with Sky Sports, stated that he loves to play as a striker.
“My favourite role is playing striker, in front,” Aubameyang said. “I also like playing on the wing, but I think my best position is striker.

Since returning from injury in April, Lacazette has played a total of 1,679 minutes alongside Aubameyang between the Premier League & FA Cup. In that period, the pair have scored a combined 29 goals & provided a further 14 assists. An average of 1 G/A every 39 minutes. Dream duo.

“I like to play with two up front, it’s nice because you can do some combinations with the other strikers.”
However, he maintained that he will play wherever Unai Emery wants him to play.
“If the coach needs me on the right or on the left, it doesn’t matter, I go and I fight for the team, it’s no problem,” Aubameyang added.
The forward also talked about his friendship with Alexandre Lacazette. Funnily, he stated that he didn’t expect to be friends with the Frenchman.
“We were rivals before in France, I was not expecting for him to be my friend, but today is different,” Aubameyang said.
“At first when I came here, he gave me a lot of confidence, because we spoke straight.
“We have the same vision about football, which is a good point between us, and that’s the point that started this friendship.”
Unai Emery has apparently confirmed, on SoccerAM, the identities of the players who shot him during a paintballing exercise. He said Lacazette and Aubameyang were the best shooters because they ambushed him and shot him from about five metres away.

Lacazette’s goal return isn’t as impressive as Aubameyang’s this season, but his game is about so much more than goals. His creativity, ability to occupy two defenders & bring others into play is invaluable. Both him & Auba are crucial for us to get back into the Champions League pic.twitter.com/1QAQTYh9tr

Earlier, Aubameyang reflected on the ‘rivalry’ with Lacazette in an interview.
