Barcelona are eying a deal for the young defender Toulouse center-back Jean-Clair Todibo who is also wanted by Real Madrid.

The 19-year-old, who came through the youth system at Les Violets, has featured 10 times for the French outfit this term.

The defender has refused to sign a new contract and the relationship between the player and the manager has taken a toil, with the France U-20 international now training with the reserves.

Standing tall at 1.90 meters, French International is an excellent defender who possesses serious threat from set pieces. Besides, his maturity to read the game at this young is phenomenal.

His tackling and ability to nullify the attackers have mainly attracted many suitors as it is the key ingredient in Todibo’s game. The French International’s passing ability as a defender is also another bonus for the potential buyer.

It is claimed that a fee between the region of 3 and 4 million should be able to secure the signature of the 19-year-old who looks immensely talented.

Liverpool, Wolverhampton Wanderers, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen and Juventus are also interested in securing his services, but both the Spanish giant clubs are seeking to lure him away to Spain.

Real Madrid are currently left with three centre halves in Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane, and Nacho Fernandez. Sergio Reguilon is another defender but he has failed to impress either Julen Lapotegui or Santiago Solari.

Barcelona are injury hit at the back currently with Samuel Umtiti’s injury extent unknown. Besides, Thomas Vermaelen does not have a good track record when it comes down to injuries.

They have signed Jeison Murillo on loan, but they will be looking to add another centre-back to ease the pressure. Todibo could be the exact player for the Spanish outfit.

Liverpool’s centre halves except Virgil Van Dijk are prone to injuries, which might force Jurgen Klopp to add another defender to their roster. Leipzig have a good track record of nurturing the youngsters since the inception of the club.

Juventus are looking for young defenders with the current crop of Georgio Chiellini, Andrea Barzagli, and Leonardo Bonnucci all over 33 years of age.

All other sides are trying to lure him to their respective sides as they look to bolster their backline with his signing who could prove to be a long-term solution.

Clubs are queueing up for the signature of the French teenager. However, Barcelona remains the favourites to sign him.
