Barcelona are monitoring Juventus’ Miralem Pjanic as Andres Iniesta’s replacement.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo has claimed that Barcelona are monitoring Bosnian footballer Miralem Pjanic as a potential replacement for Andres Iniesta. According to the report, Barcelona has already made an approach for the Bosnian.
Pjanic joined Juventus in 2016 from AS Roma for a transfer fee of 32 million euros. Ever since joining the Italian giants, he has become a key figure in Juventus’ midfield.
The Bosnian midfielder appeared in 91 matches throughout the two seasons for Juventus, scoring 15 goals for the club. He was central to Juventus’ run in both the Serie A titles, as well as to the final of Champions League in 2016-17.
Mundo Deportivo reports that the Catalan giants have already made an initial contact with the player.
The Spanish outlet claims that Barcelona will use the money reserved for Antoine Griezmann to complete the transfer for Miralem Pjanic to Nou Camp. Pjanic also reportedly wants to play for Barcelona due to the presence of Lionel Messi.
Juventus, on the other hand, are preparing for a midfield overhaul, as they are in talks with Lazio over the potential signing of Sergey Milinkovic-Savic, with Emre Can very close to signing for the club.
Pjanic has also reportedly drawn links from Manchester City, and Barca’s El Clasico rivals Real Madrid. However, Juventus have put a 70 milion euro price-tag on the player.
Antoine Griezmann, meanwhile, has decided to stay at Atletico Madrid after a month of speculations over his move to FC Barcelona.
