Barcelona is lying about Lionel Messi’s contract
While Lionel Messi is still banging in the goals for Barcelona, their supporters worldwide must be wondering if the Argentine legend will be still be at the club in one year’s time.
While there are many players who are currently in their final contract, Lionel Messi is clearly the biggest name of them all. Arguably the greatest player to have ever played the game, Messi has still not yet officially signed a contract extension with the club.
While the Barcelona President, Maria Bartomeu is telling everyone that Messi’s contract extension is a done deal, the fact is that Messi has not yet put pen to paper.

Benedito, who was a former presidential candidate, believes that Barcelona are trying to start a “serious institutional crisis”.
“Bartomeu has said that the contract is signed, but that is not true,” Benedito said at a media conference on Thursday.
“This contract without the signature of Messi has no validity. Although it has been signed by his father, he [Bartomeu] needs the signature of the player.”
“It’s possible that the presence of Bartomeu is the main obstacle for this not being complete,” he added.
“I hope the president explains the truth, because this is not the first time he lies.”
Losing Messi is unthinkable for Barcelona, especially after they lost Neymar over the summer. The Brazilian was supposed to take over from Messi at the club, which is obviously not going to happen now.
Let’s see what happens now!
