Indian captain Virat Kohli was not really contented with the schedule planned by BCCI. He labelled it as ‘tight one’ while venting out his frustration at the pre-match press conference ahead of Nagpur Test.

Had it not for a ‘cramped schedule’, India would have got enough time to get into the scheme of things. India are currently involved in the home assignment against Sri Lanka.

After that, they have just two more days left before jetting off to the outskirts of South Africa. Obviously, the so called cramped schedule has kept Virat Kohli & Co far away from ideal preparations.

This is one of the reasons why Virat Kohli asked BCCI for change in conditions that carry bounce on the surface so as to prepare for South Africa tour.

“Unfortunately, we get only two days before we fly to South Africa after this series gets over. So we have no choice but try to be in a game situation and think of what’s coming ahead of us.

Had we got a month off ideally, we would have done a proper preparation in a camp sort of scenario but we have to sort of make do with what we have,” Virat Kohli said.

BCCI President CK Khanna appreciated Virat Kohli’s views as he feels that his opinions on cricketing matters should be taken into consideration for better outcomes.

“Virat is the Indian captain and his view point on cricketing matters should be taken with utmost seriousness. We are proud how the team is performing but if players are feeling fatigued, we need to have a broader view on the issue,” Khanna told PTI.

“I think we should analyse if it is a good option to have three back-to-back series with hardly any break for the players. It will be great if this can also be included in the agenda for the December 9, Special General Meeting,” Khanna said in a statement.
