Bret Hart: WWE legend opens up on his Hall of fame attack by fan during wrestlemania weekend in New York earlier this year.
Bret Hart was inducted into the hall of fame earlier this year as part of The Hart Foundation. He was joined on stage by his late partner’s daughter, Natalya, as he fondly looked back at his time with Jim ‘The Anvil’ Neidhart.

However, a fan decided to sour the moment and walked on to the stage to tackle the WWE legend. He was reportedly beat up by several wrestlers who escorted him away from the stage.
Bret Hart discussed the attack during the latest Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast.
He said of the incident:
“Well you know, I didn’t see the guy until it was too late. I could tell something was happening but I actually thought it was a fight in the crowd or something like that. You know you just, you never take anything for granted. I consider myself lucky that-that was as insignificant an incident as it was. I know everyone thought I got punched and hurt or manhandled by that guy, but it was more of the way other way around I think, unfortunately. [chuckles]. More of a bad day for that guy.”
His thoughts on the attack:
“A guy like this wants attention, the headline, they want me and you guys to be talking about it on the radio right now. And I just try to — this is the first time I’ve talked about it. I feel bad that it happened — not that I feel bad for him. I don’t wanna see anyone, especially a fan, get hurt and he got hurt pretty good, I think. And some of the wrestlers that jumped on top of him landed on me pretty hard trying to protect me. Which is also, I appreciate all that too but it’s better left unsaid I think.”
Bret Hart is a five-time WWF World Heavyweight Champion and a two-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion. He is one of only four people to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice; once as a single’s wrestler in 2006 and again in 2019 as a member of The Hart Foundation.
