Carvajal on Neymar

Dani Carvajal on Neymar: Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal reveals what Neymar told him when he trained with Real’s youth side in 2006.

Real Madrid is going through a tough patch at the moment. The club is currently on a four match goalless run, its first in over three decades.

Julen Lopetegui’s side lost the match in the final minute to Deportivo Alaves last weekend, after conceding their first defeat in the Champions League in 30 matches. Real Madrid lost 1-0 to CSKA Moscow, and are currently second in their group.

Dani Carvajal, the Real Madrid right-back who is forced to sit on the sidelines with injury, has now revealed details from a training session with Neymar in 2006. The club has been relentlessly linked with Neymar throughout the summer transfer window, before the Brazilian confirmed that he would stay at Paris Saint German.

The Spanish defender has revealed that Neymar told him he will sign for Real Madrid in the future.

Carvajal on Neymar:

Dani Carvajal stated that the Brazilian forward was invited to participate in a training session with Real Madrid’s youth team. The defender said that Neymar told the team that he would sign for the club. However, seven years later, the Brazilian forward signed for Real Madrid’s arch rivals Barcelona.

Neymar was influential in Barca’s two successful La Liga campaigns, and guided the Catalan giants to Champions League victory in 2015.

“I remember Neymar perfectly well in the youth team,” Carvajal told Libero, via Goal.

“He told us that he was going to stay and we all lifted him up and celebrated with him,” the Spanish defender said.

Dani Carvajal also admitted that he is fascinated by Premier League football, and would want to play in England in the future. However, he also insisted that he wants to finish his career at Real Madrid.

“I do think about it,” said Carvajal on whether he would prefer to play abroad. “And I am clear that I want to play in the Premier League. It is an experience that I really want to have.

“I don’t want to be left wondering what it would be like. But, on the other hand, I would like to spend my whole career here, which would be something very nice, too.”
