CDPR Twitch: Night City Wire’s 5th Episode of Cyberpunk featured a Keanu Reeves Interview, exclusive gameplay, an all-new face animation system & more!
After countless delays & never-ending cliffhangers, it’s finally time. Cyberpunk 2077 is about to get released for real this time on the 10th of December. However, if the exclusive gameplay footage on Night City Wire’s Episode 5 is anything to go by, even this arduous wait may be worth it.
CDPR Twitch: Exclusive Gameplay & Plot Reveal.
The Night City Wire live stream on Twitch Gaming had a great deal in store for us. However, nothing was probably quite as big as the actual 5 min long gameplay footage of the game itself.
Night City looked stunning & packed to the brim with life & colour. Along with it, CDPR also revealed the game’s basic plot & structure. And we’ve got to say, this is probably the most revolutionary game of the year. I mean there’s so much going on that one doesn’t know where to begin.
It claims to bring & better CDPR’s wonderful RPG elements in The Witcher 3. Add to that the obvious & convincing GTA V template on which the game treads & you’ve already got a winning combination. You get to choose your playstyle, ranging from stealth to out & out assault. Once you begin, the game will bring together an entire spectrum of social life before you to interact with. There’s politics, cheap crime, underworld bosses, cult leaders, well-wishers, tech geniuses. There are all sorts of people in Night City & if executed well, they’ll
bring an unparalleled level of complexity to the game.

CDPR Twitch: Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand.
One of the major attractions of Night City’s & Cyberpunk 2077’s appeal however is Johnny Silverhand. Staying true to the tag of being revolutionary, CDPR is the first major company to cast a mainstream celebrity of this scale into a game. Keanu Reeves is also the first major celebrity to agree to such a project. Needless to say, it was a unique experience for both parties.
“Star Power is real”, CDPR said, “Keanu is Johnny, Johnny is Keanu… he makes the character more understandable”. It’s obvious that Keanu was always the goal for CDPR. Besides the obvious acting talent he brings to the part, his marketability is also huge. Moreover, they are a studio that has designed characters as relatable as Geralt of Rivia. So, imagine what they can do with someone like Keanu on board!
JALI, the revolutionary facial animation technology.
Of the many brilliant new forces that went into the making of this iconic game, JALI is one of the most important. This facial animation tool applies a technique of attribute specific adjustment which allows for major improvements. Faces in Cyberpunk 2077 look much more real & their lip sync is vastly improved.
In fact, JALI allows a character to speak up to 10 languages with original lip sync! Imagine how cool that is! A character can adjust the way its lips moves in-game based on whichever language you choose! In order words, JALI allows for next-level adaptability.

Bottomline.
Every once in a while, there comes a product in any genre that reshapes the entire genre. It was the iPhone for Smartphones, Android for Mobile OS & GTA V for open-world RPGs. Cyberpunk 2077 has the potential to be such a game. The amount of creative energy that has gone into it & the complexity it promises is amazing. If executed well, it will take video gaming to a whole new level.
However, with such expectations, there’s always the risk of a bust & a flop, just around the corner. So, fingers crossed, let’s hope that isn’t the case.
