Tammy Abraham has stated that he is very keen to work with Chelsea and wants Frank Lampard at the helm.
Tammy Abraham, who spent a year on-loan at Aston Villa, has said that it there will be ‘no better guy’ than Frank Lampard to take over the Blues from the upcoming season.
Maurizio Sarri pressed the exit button and returned to Italy – this time with Juventus. This has forced the club to assess their managerial options – with Frank Lampard sitting on the driver seat for the vacant role at Stamford Bridge.
The reigning Europa League Champions are currently facing time on transfer ban. Striker Tammy Abraham believes that it would benefit himself, along with other youngsters at the club. The Blues have a reputation of loaning out youngsters, but they will stay at the club for a season – majorly down to the transfer ban.
Speaking to the media, the 21-year-old said: “Transfer ban is probably not what the club wanted but for us it is exciting. I’m excited. I’m sure the rest of the (young Chelsea) players are. This year is the most important year for us. There’s no better time to play the youngsters. It’s now or never.”
“There’s no better time to be at Chelsea. I’m going to give it my all. I got 1000s of messages from Chelsea fans on Instagram (when out on loan) saying play him, play him. It’s nice knowing they have your back.”
When he was asked about the inevitable appointment of Frank Lampard, he said that ‘there will not be a better candidate than Frank Lampard’ currently.
“There is no better guy to play under. Someone you have grown up watching, been at Chelsea forever. He knows about me as well. I played against his team in the play-off final.” said Abraham.
The Blues legend has allegedly agreed a three-year deal with the club and would be announced as Chelsea boss next week.
