“This will upset Frank Lampard more than anything”: Lampard’s Cousin Lashes Out At His Transfer Strategy

WATCH: Frank Lampard Asks Entire Chelsea Bench To Warm Up During Half Time: The manager was clearly less than impressed after seeing his club go 3-0 down inside the first half

Made a mockery of as Manchester City toyed with them to power themselves into a 3-0 lead inside the first half, Chelsea were in clear need of changes come the second half. The club was lacklustre and dreary with the need for changes being blatantly visible.

Chelsea Entire Bench Warming up

And a seething Frank Lampard was having none of it as he asked his entire bench to get up and warm up during the interval. Seldom are all substitutes asked to take to the pitch and get themselves ready for the second half with the last gambit from Lampard alluding to the dire situation he found himself on.

The substitutions were not so quick coming from Lampard though with the Chelsea manager taking 64 minutes to make his first change. Both Kante and Ziyech were taken off with Gilmour and Callum Hudson-Odoi being brought on as substitutes.

The final change was made in the 77th minute with Kai Havertz being asked to replace Matteo Kovacic. The three changes did end up reposing the faith earmarked in them with Havertz sending the ball across the face of the goal for Callum Hudson-Odoi who ended up neatly converting.

The goal meant little for Chelsea though with the side being dismissed from sight by Manchester City. The 3-1 defeat was an utterly weak and timid performance from the home side, a showing which has seen many of the club’s raucous supporters grow out of patience with Lampard.

The defeat has seen Chelsea all the way down into 8th spot with the side accruing just 4 points from the last available 18. The club is in the midst of a real ruckus with the stem ever widening as the side sinks further down the points tally.

The win for City meanwhile was their third successive one, one which took the side to the anvil of the top 4. The side is just four points behind league leaders Liverpool now with City having an additional match to play over the league leaders.
