According to the latest reports, Chelsea offer Eden Hazard new contract worth a staggering £300,000/week.

Eden Hazard has been the major subject of interest in this summer’s transfer window. The Belgium international is extremely keen on a Real Madrid transfer and has not hidden the fact in public. At one point, it started to look that the 27 year old left winger will leave Chelsea for Spain’s capital with his departure only being a matter of time.

However, with a lot of convincing from newly appointed boss Maurizio Sarri, Hazard has decided to stay at Chelsea, at least this year. The Blues are now looking to take prompt advantage of Eden Hazard’s contentment and are going to offer him a bumper contract. That will see the Belgian have a higher release clause and a wage of 300,000 pounds per week. This is a step mainly taken to fend off interest from Real Madrid.

Yet, Hazard is ready to run down his contract which is valid until 2020 before he commits his future. Chelsea missed out on Champions League football this season and Hazard’s exit would be imminent if their place in Europe’s elite competition is in jeopardy for yet another campaign.

Fortunately, the early signs look good for the Blues who have two wins on the bounce against Huddersfield Town and Arsenal. They are one of the only six teams who have a 100% record in the Premier League next to Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Watford, Everton and Liverpool.

Chelsea will have to work extremely hard if their ambition wants to be fulfilled and more so, with a poor squad depth. Their main aim this season is to finish in the Premier League’s top four for sure, but even a triumph in the UEFA Europa League would see Hazard’s future being secure.

Otherwise, Chelsea fear the worst as they already lost Thibaut Courtois for very cheap this year. If Champions League football doesn’t come to back to the Stamford Bridge next year, their talisman will have to go somewhere else to pursue his ambition of playing in it and that could be at a low cost.
