Chelsea take a cheeky dig at recently sold Alvaro Morata on Twitter. The subtle savagery was not lost on fans as they picked up the sly message.
Alvaro Morata joined Chelsea from Real Madrid in the summer of 2017. The London club paid a reported club-record fee of around £60 million to acquire the Spanish striker. However, his stay at Stamford Bridge only yielded 16 goals in 47 appearances.

Morata moved to Atletico Madrid on a loan earlier this year in January on an 18-month deal. Atletico Madrid made the move permanent earlier in the day and Chelsea thanked the player and wished him luck in a Tweet from their official Twitter Handle.

Shortly after, Chelsea announced that they had extended Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s stay at Stamford Bridge until at least 2024. The caption on the tweeter post though, seemed to be a subtle but sly dig at the Spanish Striker.

The contract extension drew great reactions from the fans. However a select few picked up on the veiled humor and applauded the savagery.
