Chelsea Transfer News: Blues are ready to offer £170K weekly wages contract to Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
Chelsea is looking to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga, as the world’s most expensive goalkeeper has fallen short of the expectations set by the bosses at Chelsea.
So, the West London based club is looking for ideal replacements and view a bright prospect in Manchester United’s Dean Henderson, who was on loan to Sheffield United this season.
According to a report by the Mirror, Chelsea is ready to offer £170,000 weekly salary to lure him into the club, while Manchester United is determined to stick with him.
The performances by the 23-year-old goalkeeper have impressed several top clubs in England. Whereas, his parent club is also targeting to transition him into the first team.
However, Henderson is more than ready to be the number 1 choice goalkeeper of any top club in the Premier League, and the Red Devils’ fondness towards David De Gea even in his decline can cost them a gem.
It all depends, how long can Manchester United make Henderson remain patient. On the other hand, the report further states that Chelsea is offering £55 million to Manchester United to let go of Henderson.
Are there any cheaper alternates to Henderson?
Chelsea is determined to sign a goalkeeper and Frank Lampard has acknowledged the leaks in defence. But Chelsea also needs to reinforce other departments.
Signing Henderson is a costly affair, and it will probably exhaust all the surplus remaining with them from the sale of Eden Hazard and transfer ban in the summer.
Chelsea has been heavily linked with Andre Onana, and surely he is a much cheaper option than Henderson, but a Premier League proven goalkeeper is always a safer bet.
Now the decision remains with the Chelsea board, who have so far been clever in making signings this summer.
