Chelsea Transfer News: Frank Lampard has been offered talented La Liga forward for £50m. He has also been given the chance to bring him on loan.
Chelsea’s brilliant campaign has been dampened in the last few weeks. The club’s priority is to bring in defensive reinforcements. However, with the possible departures of both Willian and Pedro in January and the following Summer, Frank Lampard is keen on bolstering his attacking options.
The Blues were originally looking at bringing in Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha. However, his price has turned them off and they are now looking for cheaper alternatives. Fortunately for the London club, Atletico Madrid have come to their rescue.
Chelsea offered the opportunity to purchase or loan Thomas Lemar
According to the Evening Standard, Diego Simeone have been offered the chance to sign Thomas Lemar this January. The report states that Lampard can bring the winger in on loan for a fee of £5m loan and can sign him permanently for £50m. They also add that the winger is keen to join the Blues.
Lemar rose to fame after impressing with AS Monaco. However, he has failed to live up to expectations in the Spanish Capital according to his boss Simeone. Stamford Bridge could be the perfect place for the 24-year old to revive his career.
It is possible that Atletico’s defensive style of play has stifled him and prevented him from playing his natural game. Lemar could be a perfect fit in Lampard’s free flowing style of play. He will be given the freedom to showcase his creativity and could go on to become one of the best players in Europe; just as many had once expected.
