Chelsea Transfer News : Falk confirms Chelsea interest in Alaba with the club touted to make a move for the defender.
Despite having managed to have steadied a rocky Chelsea defensive ship with the side’s bevy of new signings taking to the league like a fish takes to water, Frank Lampard clearly wants more reinforcements. The club has continuously been linked to a barrage of defenders with Bayern Munich’s David Alaba becoming the latest entrant into the ever growing pile.
However, if news coming out of Germany is to be believed, Chelsea’s interest in the Bayern Munich defender is concrete and serious. The club has been monitoring Alaba’s situation at the German club since the onset of this season with Chelsea’s interest being rekindled after Bayern Munich confirmed they had withdrawn their latest contract extension offer to Alaba.
Christian Falk Confirms Chelsea Set To Move For Alaba In January
With Alaba’s deal at Bayern Munich set to expire in 2021 and with no signs emoting towards a further stay at Bayern Munich, the defender will be free to engage in talks with interested parties come January. And BILD’s Christian Falk, one of the foremost names on all news surrounding Bayern Munich has confirmed that Chelsea have entered the fray of the clubs interested in roping in Alaba.
True : Alaba-Agent Pini Zahavi plans to start talks in January with @ChelseaFC about a transfer of @David_Alaba Also on his List: @PSG_inside: Falk wrote on Twitter confirming Chelsea are set to sit down with talks with Pini regarding Alaba’s potential move to the club.
Bayern Munich Withdraw New Offer
Talks between Alaba and Bayern Munich over an extension had been poured cold water over earlier this month with Alaba refusing to budge on his wage demands. The defender’s refusal to budge from his demands of 2,80,000 pounds a week resulted in talks between the two parties reach an impasse.
Club president Herbert Hainer said earlier this month: ‘We submitted to David and his adviser some time ago what we think was a very good offer. “
‘The answer was that the offer was still unsatisfactory and we should think about it again. We then decided to take the offer completely off the table. This means there is no longer an offer.’
Ever since Alaba’s recent embargo has come to the fore, the defender has drawn interest from a slew of suitors who are looking to indulge in his services with Juventus, PSG, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Chelsea said to be amongst the interested parties.
