Chelsea Transfer News Real Madrid set to offer disgraced star following coronavirus row

Chelsea Transfer News: Real Madrid set to offer disgraced star following coronavirus row despite being asked to self-isolate.

One of Chelsea’s biggest issue this season was a lack of a challenging back up to Tammy Abraham this season. While Olivier Giroud has been decent in his limited appearances, both him and Michy Batshuayi have failed to do enough to present Frank Lampard with choices as his frontman.

Jose Mourinho at North London, has a similar issue with strikers at Tottenham. Injuries to Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son have left the side barren in their attack. Both clubs tried to fill the gap in the January transfer window. Although, it proved to be a hill too tough to climb in the middle of the season.

Mourinho and Lampard however, may be given an able choice to fill that very space in their squad through Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic.

Real Madrid to offload under-performing star

Jovic was one of Zinedine Zidane’s premier summer signing last year from Frankfurt and cost Real Madrid £50million. He failed to reprise his form from the preceding season that prompted the Spanish giants to purchase him in the first place.

2 goals in all competitions this season and limited game time at the Bernabeu was disheartening in itself but the controversy he finds himself now has prompted the club to rid them off the forward according to Metro Sport, who claim that both Chelsea and Tottenham will now be given the chance to sign him at the end of the current season.

Real had put their entire squad into lockdown after a player on their basketball team tested positive for coronavirus. Jovic was given permission to leave self-isolation to fly home to Serbia last week. However, the striker landed in hot water following his decision to disregard coronavirus guidelines of his country.

Luka Jovic halfheartedly apologized for his misdemeanor and shifted the blame entirely unto others claiming:

‘I am very sorry that some people did not do their jobs professionally and did not give me instructions on how to behave regarding isolation.

‘In Spain I was allowed to go to the pharmacy and the supermarket, which isn’t the case here.’

Regardless, Real Madrid are not impressed with the entire episode. They will look to offload the under-performing star in the summer. Although, their attempts may be hampered by complications regarding the Coronavirus pandemic which has seen the Premier League extend the current season indefinitely; which, in turn, will also delay the corresponding transfer window.
