Chelsea Transfer News: Roman Abramovich green light’s two marquee signings in the summer as he readies himself to back Frank Lampard in the next transfer window.
Frank Lampard has exceeded all expectations at Stamford Bridge this season. Chelsea had lost their best player last season. To make matters worse, they were also inflicted with a transfer ban. This meant that they wouldn’t be in a position to strengthen themselves.

Under Lampard however, the side has punched above its weight and are currently placed at 4th position. Owner Roman Abramovich is keen to see Lampard continue the good work and challenge Liverpool and Manchester City next season and has sanctioned two marquee signings to that end.

The Russian Billionaire is ready to back Lampard with at least two big signings in the summer according to the Athletic. The report claims that Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell is their number one priority in the summer.
The left-back has been integral to Leicester City’s success this season and the Foxes will want to keep a hold of him. However, the club will be open to selling for the right price. Brenden Rogers’ side were looking for around £85m before coronavirus struck but the West Londoners are said to be hopeful the pandemic’s financial impact may drive the fee down.
Frank Lampard will welcome Hakim Ziyech in the summer. However, they are looking forward to adding another attacking option in the side. Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz is among the options that include Jadon Sancho and Timo Werner.
However, they could face challenge from Manchester United for Sancho and Liverpool for Werner. Even Havertz won’t come cheap with the Bundesliga side expected to demand upwards of £50m.
