Chirs Morris ruled out of IPL 2018
Delhi Daredevils are in free fall right now, as they have now been rocked with the news that star all-rounder, Chris Morris has been ruled out this season’s competition.
Morris has been replaced by another South African, Junior Dala, as the pace bowler who impressed against India recently will be looking to make a name for himself with Delhi.
Iyer has looked into good touch this year, and was the lone performer in Delhi’s most recent loss to Punjab.
This is very surprising, as no one saw this drastic step coming their way. Delhi had bought very well in the auction this year, and were expected to go a long way in the competition.
Unfortunately for them, things have not gone well as their superstars have not performed well for them.
Gambhir’s loss as a skipper will be felt, and one wonders if young Shreyas Iyer will be up to the task. In a move that reeks of desperation, let’s see if Delhi can turn the corner and qualify for the playoffs this season.
Gambhir’s resignation as Delhi skipper sent shock waves round the IPL, as Gambhir’s return to Delhi was one of the biggest talking points this year. One of the greatest skippers in the competition’s history, Gambhir famously led KKR to two titles in three years, as the Delhi player won the hearts of the entire nation.
Shreays Iyer will now be the man in charge, as the Tamil Nadu star will look to fill in the big boots of Gautam Gambhir.
