Steam Database: CS: GO suddenly removed from Steam Store

Counter-Strike Global Offensive: Latest update removes the presence of Bots in competitive matches. The most important part of last week’s update is that bots will no longer be available in competitive CS:GO games! Read all the details here.

Valve has come up with a very important decision for CS:GO players! After the update which came out on Jan 7th, bots will no longer be a part of competitive games in the FPS shooter. This decision has caused a lot of division among players, some of whom feel this is unnecessary!

Before the Jan 7th update, when a player disconnects or was kicked by, a bot would replace them. This was to make sure that teams remained even. This was very useful, as if a teammate dies, they can take over control of the bot. With the latest change made to CS:GO competitive games and Wingman mode, this will no longer be possible!

If a players leaves or is kicked, the team will have to play with a numbers disadvantage. Many in the CS:GO community are still coming to terms this change! Many have also voiced out concerns that this will result in a 4v5 situation, making it harder to win.

You can read the entire patch notes by checking out the tweet below!

Why was CS:GO competitive bots removed?

We still have no information as to why Valve has come up with this decision. One of the key reasons could be to reduce the number of incidents where a team kicks an underperforming player. Anyways, the bots weren’t very good! However, they could be very reliable to bait out opponents.

Although it wasn’t a perfect system, it was still very useful for teams to ensure they still fought it out on a level playing field! With this change, we may witness less incidents of players being kicked by their teammates.
