Abhishek Sharma and Rashid Khan collision: Watch SRH pair involved in nasty crash vs RCB

Abhishek Sharma and Rashid Khan collision: The Hyderabadi duo was involved in an unpleasant collision at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

During the third match of the ongoing 13th season of the Indian Premier League between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Dubai, Sunrisers Hyderabad pair of Abhishek Sharma (7) and Rashid Khan (6) was involved in an unpleasant collision which led to the former’s fall.

It all happened on the last delivery of the 17th over when Sharma hit a Shivam Dube delivery on the leg-side and showed interest in running the second run. With the second run easily available, Rashid responded to Sharma’s call.

However, as both the players were running the second run, they were guilty of watching the ball without paying any heed to where their partner was running. As a result, Sharma and Rashid ended up crashing into each other.

Sharma, who lost his balance, was nowhere near to the batting crease when Royal Challengers wicket-keeper Joshua Philippe dislodged the bails.

Rashid, on the other hand, fell on the ground and had to undergo a concussion test before resuming his innings. While Rashid chose to not walk off, he was far away from his best before getting out in the next over.

A batting collapse in the second half of their innings restricted SRH to 153/10 in a 164-run target. Barring wicket-keeper batsman Jonny Bairstow (61) and batsman Manish Pandey (34), none of the Hyderabadi batsman contributed significantly.

Earlier, it was Sunrisers captain David Warner who had won the toss and opted to field. On the back of half-centuries by Devdutt Padikkal (56) and AB de Villiers (51), RCB scored a competitive 163/5 in 20 overs.

With bowling figures of 1.2-0-14-1, Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Vijay Shankar was the pick of their bowlers. Other than Shankar, all-rounder Abhishek Sharma and pacer T Natarajan also picked a wicket apiece.
