"AIR JORDAN": Chris Jordan pulls off a stunning catch to dismiss Shaun Marsh in REN vs SIX BBL 12 match

During the ongoing BBL 12 match between Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Renegades at the Simonds Stadium in Geelong, Sydney Sixers’ pacer Chris Jordan took an excellent catch on the field to dismiss Melbourne Renegades’ star batter Shaun Marsh on Izharulhaq Naveed’s bowling.

The Renegades went into the match with an unchanged team, whereas the Sixers made a couple of changes. Sean Abbott’s absence from the Sixers’ playing eleven surprised quite a few fans, and he was replaced by English international Chris Jordan. Afghan spinner Izharulhaq Naveed also got his place back in the playing eleven.

Opting to bat first, the Renegades had a shaky start where both of their openers, Martin Guptill and Nic Maddinson failed to impress. Aaron Finch also played a struggling knock, and he got out after scoring 17 runs in 15 balls with the help of one boundary. Although, Shaun Marsh played a decent knock with the bat.

Sydney Sixers’ spinner Izharulhaq Naveed was bowling the 10th over of the innings, and Shaun Marsh was on strike. Marsh smashed Naveed for a six on the 3rd ball of the over towards mid-wicket. On the 4th ball, Marsh again tried to slog sweep Naveed, but it was not a proper connection.

Marsh top-edged it, and the ball went way straighter than Marsh would have expected. Chris Jordan was fielding at the long-on boundary, and he made a brilliant run and dived in front to grab a stunner of a catch. Even the commentators were delighted with Jordan’s effort, and they called him “Air Jordan”.

Jordan is famous for his acrobatic efforts in the field, and he again proved his class on the field. This is Jordan’s first match of the BBL 12 season. He was with the team in the last season as well, where he had a forgettable season, and he managed to scalp just three wickets in five matches.
