Andre Russell Gets Goosebumps by 'Finisher' Rinku Singh's Batting in IPL 2023

Kolkata Knight Riders‘ allrounder Andre Russell admits getting goosebumps seeing his fellow teammate Rinku Singh performing the role of the side’s ‘finisher’ in the ongoing 16th season of the Indian Premier League, after the latter yet again sealed the deal for the team with a win off the last delivery against the Punjab Kings at the Eden Gardens.

The Windies ferocious batter, who received the ‘Player of the Match’ award tonight for his match-winning knock of 42 (23), even admitted to have had enough trust in the Uttar Pradesh batter to score the winning runs on the final delivery.

Requiring two runs off the last ball of the 180-run chase, Rinku yet again delivered for his side, smashing Arshdeep Singh for a boundary towards the deep square leg fence.

During the post-match presentation with host broadcaster Star Sports, Andre Russell admitted to have wanted to finish the match during the last Over, but did not have an iota of doubt on Rinku either, and his ability to win it for them single-handedly.

Praising him further, Russell exclaimed that he gets goosebumps seeing Rinku go about his business with each passing day, with his company taking the pressure off when it comes to finish games during the back-end of the innings.

“I get goosebumps seeing him doing what he’s been doing. I have company at the back end, he soaks the pressure off and he’s been here for years now, a really hard-working guy. He’s very funny outside the field, I try to stay as close to him while we are training.”
