Australia women’s cricket team’s all-rounder Annabel Sutherland comes from a cricketing family. At the young age of 21, Sutherland is already a world-cup winner. The Australian team has always been filled with superstars and it is not easy to make a spot in that team.

Sutherland was born on October 12, 2001, in Melbourne, Australia. Cricket was in her blood and she started the sport at a very young age. She made her Women’s Big Bash League debut at the age of 15 and became the youngest ever player of that time to do the same.
Sutherland used to play Australian Rules Football as well during her school days with boys. Her mother was the one who set up the women’s team in her school. Talking about her education, she owns a science degree from Methodist Ladies’ College in New Victoria.

James Sutherland is Annabel’s father and he is a former Australian domestic cricketer. He was the CEO of Cricket Australia from 2001 to 2018. He was also a Chartered Accountant and worked with Carlton Football Club as finance manager. James was so proud of her daughter that she used to train with boys.
“Sometimes there were two girls, but mostly it was all boys. And that can be quite intimidating … I always felt that’s brave, or that she just really loved the sport, to want to do it week-in, week-out, year after year,” James Sutherland had said.
Heidi Sutherland is Annabel’s mother and her profession is unknown. Annabel has two brothers named Will Sutherland and Tom Sutherland. Will is also a proffessional cricketer who represents Victoria in domestic cricket and Melbourne Renegades in Big Bash League. He is also an all-rounder and has scalped 102 first-class wickets so far in his career.
