Australia registering a thumping home Test series victory over South Africa after 17 years has exhilarated former England captain Michael Vaughan who cannot hide his excitement with respect to Ashes 2023.

Vaughan has become the third high-profile cricketing personality after former Australia batter Mark Waugh and veteran India wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik to be waiting for the next Ashes series.
In addition to the above mentioned trio, expect more voices to be speaking highly about next year’s Ashes even before its start. A primary reason behind the same is not just a clash between two stalwarts in a historic series but two in-form stalwarts in a historic series.
England’s sensational development under captain Ben Stokes and head coach Brendon McCullum has converted them into a force to reckon with. Australia, meanwhile, haven’t lost a Test series in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship cycle.
The prospect of these two teams locking horns in a five-match Test series in the middle of an English summer has it in it to become a crowing point not only for the summer but for throughout the year.
Michael Vaughan predicts blockbuster Ashes 2023 with England as winners
Vaughan took to social media platform Twitter to predict a blockbuster Ashes 2023 claiming it to be a possible battle between England’s batters and the best bowling attack in the world. Vaughan, however, is expecting an English victory predominantly due to the presence of Stokes.
Next years Ashes is going to be a belter .. England playing this new exciting brand against the best bowling attack in the world .. The Aussies are consistently the best Test team in the world but haven’t Won here since 2001 !!!!! If Stokes is Fit it’s England to win #Ashes

Having won four consecutive away Ashes series between 1989 and 2001, Australia haven’t been able to win a single Ashes series in England in the last five attempts in 2005, 2009, 2013, 2015 and 2019. Although the urn has remained with them since 2017, the Aussies would be really wanting to win a series in England to further enhance Pat Cummins’ captaincy record.
Vaughan, 48, was earlier at odds with the ECB (England Cricket Board) for giving priority to The Hundred 2023 over Ashes 2023 regarding scheduling of the two events. As far as predictions are concerned, Vaughan had nailed one with South Africa beating England in the first Test match at Lord’s earlier this year.
