The ongoing season got of to an absolute humdinger of a beginning, with the Sydney Thunder defeating the Melbourne Stars in the tournament opener by 1 wicket, with the victory arriving on the final delivery of the match.
Thunder’s Gurinder Sandhu was awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ for his brilliant allround show. While he returned with bowling figures of 4-0-23-2 during the Stars’ innings, his match-winning contribution of 20* (16) at no.9 in the batting order helped his side get over the line in the low-scoring thriller.
During the second match on Wednesday, a Matthew Short (84 off 53) master class ensured a one-sided, 51-run victory for the Adelaide Strikers against previous season runners-up Sydney Sixers.

In reply, courtesy of impressive bowling spells from Henry Thornton (4-0-20-4) and Rashid Khan (4-0-21-3), the Strikers restricted Sixers to a paltry 133/7 in their 20 Overs.

As far as the online users are concerned, the same is being live streamed on the Sony LIV app and website, after payment of a subscription fee.
It is worth of a mention that one cannot officially watch the BBL 2022-23 matches on any other app or OTT platform for free or otherwise.
