The Big Bash League is up and running in Australia, and we have almost reached halfway through the league stage of the tournament. There have been some thrilling encounters in the tournament already, and the points table is changing its shape after each and every game.

Chris Lynn moved to Adelaide Strikers this season, and he is the highest run-scorer of the tournament so far with 260 runs. Alex Hales and Aaron Finch have also impressed with their batting so far in the tournament. The pitches in the BBL have been batting-friendly in most of the matches.
The bowling has been dominated by the Perth Scorchers’ bowlers, and the duo of Jhye Richardson and AJ Tye is in the top-3 list with 13 wickets each so far. Adelaide’s Henry Thornton is the highest wicket-taker with 16 wickets so far in the tournament.

The Perth Scorchers are the defending champions, and they are well-placed at the top of the table with five wins in six games. They have just lost a single match in the tournament and winning just three of their next eight games will seal their place in the playoffs of the tournament.
Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers have both won four of their seven matches, and they are at 2nd and 3rd position, respectively. Adelaide Strikers, Melbourne Renegades and Hobart Hurricanes have won three matches each, whereas Melbourne Stars and Brisbane Heat have won a couple of matches.
The playoffs of the BBL are called the final series, a total of 5 teams will qualify for it. It is a series of five matches, and the final will be played on February 4th, 2023. The venues of the series are not decided as it depends on the league standings.
