CSK vs PBKS Head to Head Record in IPL History

Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings will participate in their only Indian Premier League 2023 match against one another at the MA Chidambaram Stadium today. The 41st match of the season will be yet another afternoon fixture between these two teams over the years.

Although CSK have been among the better teams this season, PBKS have defeated them three times in a row in their recent matches. Played at the Wankhede Stadium just over 12 months ago, the last match between them had witnessed Kings successfully defending a 188-run target.

Historically, Super Kings have had an edge over this opposition including a 4-2 head-to-head record at their home ground. Speaking of this venue, these two sides will be locking horns here after a four-year gap.

As far as Punjab’s last victory at the Chepauk is concerned, they haven’t won a match here in the last 11 years. Barring Chennai captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, no other player part of the current squads were part of that IPL 2012 match.

A major difference between the two teams with respect to this stadium is the average run rate. While the hosts usually score at 8.21 runs per over in Chennai, the visitors have a below part average run rate of 7.06.
