Dan Christian age: RCB all-rounder grabs superb catch to dismiss Shubman Gill off Kyle Jamieson in IPL 2021

Dan Christian: The veteran all-rounder from Royal Challengers Bangalore contributed on the field as a substitute fielder.

During the 10th match of the ongoing 14th season of the Indian Premier League between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai, Royal Challengers Bangalore all-rounder Daniel Christian put on display a praiseworthy fielding effort to dismiss Kolkata Knight Riders opening batsman Shubman Gill.

It all happened on the penultimate delivery of the second over when Gill’s attempt of clearing mid-on resulted in his dismissal. In what was an off-cutter from Royal Challengers all-rounder Kyle Jamieson, Gill cleared his front leg to hit a third consecutive boundary but it wasn’t to be on this particular occasion.

Christian, who was substituting for all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, ran towards his right before timing his dive to perfection to complete a superb catch. It is worth mentioning that 37-year old Christian was benched for this match as Bangalore are playing with only three overseas players.

Opening the batting with Nitish Rana, Gill gave the impression of playing the aggressor at the MA Chidambaram Stadium today as he hit Jamieson for two consecutive sixes before getting out on 21 (9).

After Royal Challengers captain Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bat, his team posted a dominating 204/4 in 20 overs on the back of individual half-centuries from Glenn Maxwell (78) and AB de Villiers (76*). With bowling figures of 4-0-39-2, Knight Riders spinner Varun Chakravarthy was the pick of their bowlers this afternoon.
