Smashing three centuries in four T20 innings is no mean feat, and who better to gauge its value than the format superstar AB de Villiers, who has been gobsmacked with yet another Shubman Gill special in the ongoing 16th season of the Indian Premier League.

Being invited to bat first in Qualifier 2 fixture against Mumbai Indians in Ahmedabad, Gujarat Titans opener took on the Indians’ bowling attack since the beginning of the sixth over, and his run-fest juggernaut only ended on the last delivery of the 17th over.

During this period, the Punjab-born batter treated the bowlers with absolute disdain. Bringing up his third IPL century in mere 49 deliveries, Gill became the joint-fastest and the youngest centurion in tournament’s playoff history.

His scintillating innings ended on the score of 129 off mere 60 deliveries with the help of seven fours and 10 eyebrow-raising sixes.

As a result of his innings, Titans have registered the highest-ever total in IPL playoffs matches, i.e., 233/3. In order to win tonight, MI will have to accomplish the highest successful run-chase in the tournament’s history.
