George Floyd protests in America: Some illustrious cricketers have come forward in support to end racism around the globe.

George Floyd’s killing by a Minneapolis police officer has invoked severe protests around racism in United States. The manner in which the African-American was killed has also invited censuring reactions across social media platforms.

The infamous incident has seen people taking to roads to protest for the death and also demand justice from the authorities. US President Donald Trump’s latest statements around the matter haven’t gone down too well with the people around the world which had added more heat to the criticism.

Apart from some renowned public figures condemning the incident, cricketers have also taken to their social media platform to express their opinion on the same.

Former West Indies captain Daren Sammy, who is known for his outspoken nature, was the first cricketer to put forward his views on his Twitter platform.

Sammy, who last played for West Indies during the ICC World Twenty20 2016 in India, sought support from not just his fans but also from the International Cricket Council. Universe Boss Chris Gayle is another high-profile name who came forward and talked about racism also exists in cricket.
