"If You Can Give It, You Got To Take It": Virat Kohli's Cryptic Message for Gautam Gambhir After RCB Victory

A fight between former Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli and Lucknow Super Giants mentor Gautam Gambhir is the hottest topic of Indian Premier League 2023 at the moment. This is not the first time that these men from Delhi lost their temper in front of one another on the cricketing field. If truth be told, it all had started during an RCB vs Kolkata Knight Riders IPL match a decade ago.

When Lucknow and Bangalore met earlier this season, Gambhir did a ‘keep shut’ gesture towards the M Chinnaswamy Stadium crowd. While fielding yesterday, Kohli gave an indirect reply to Gambhir by blowing a kiss to the spectators. Kohli then had a verbal conversation with Lucnow’s pacer Naveen ul Haq.

During the customary post-match handshakes, Naveen and Kohli had a go at each other again. It turned into an ugly fight soon after it. The players of both sides along with the match officials surrounded the duo of Kohli and Gambhir who were engaged in a heated exchange of words.

Veteran spinner Amit Mishra then tried to intervene in between to maintain peace. Kohli then moved to the other side after a conversation with LSG’s assistant coach Vijay Dahiya. Gambhir then stopped all-rounder Kyle Mayers from taking to Kohli after the match.

Virat Kohli’s Cryptic Message for Gautam Gambhir After RCB Victory

Royal Challengers shared a video on their social media handles around an 18-run victory over Lucknow. Kohli was delighted after the win and he also sent a cryptic message to Gambhir.

Kohli also highlighted the support they get even in the away games and hailed the composure of the side in defending such a low total. The whole team looked jubilant and it can be said that they are in high spirits after an excellent display.

“That’s a sweet win, boys. A sweet win. If you can give it, you got to take it. Otherwise don’t give it,” Kohli said in a video shared by RCB.

“It was a really important win for us. The fact that we got more support from the home crowd is an unbelievable feeling. It tells you all about how much we are liked as a team and how people come out and back us.”

Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir fined 100% match fees

Both Kohli and Gambhir were found to be in breach of Article 2.21 of the tournament’s code of conduct. They were fined 100% of their match fees. Naveen, on the other hand, was fined 50% of his match fees.
