IRE vs SA Head to Head Records in ODIs | Ireland vs South Africa Stats | Dublin ODI

IRE vs SA Head to Head Records: The SportsRush presents for you the Head to Head statistics for the first IRE vs SA ODI.

The first ODI of the ongoing South Africa’s tour of Ireland will be played in Dublin tomorrow. Having last hosted the final match of Ireland Tri-Nation Series in 2019, the venue is hosting an ODI after a couple of years.

It is worth mentioning that this will be the first international match to be played in Dublin since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. With South Africa as visitors and spectators allowed to watch the match live, it is doubtlessly a significant series for Ireland.

The three-match series will be primarily played for ICC Cricket World Cup Super League points. Additionally, Ireland will also take the field at Malahide with an eye on their maiden ODI victory against South Africa.

The last time when Ireland and South Africa had locked horns against each other was more than half-a-decade ago in Benoni. South Africa’s gargantuan 206-run victory had come on the back of Temba Bavuma scoring a career-best 113 (123) with the help of 13 fours and a six.

Other than Bavuma, the likes of Quinton de Kock (82), JP Duminy (52*) and Farhaan Behardien (50) had scored individual half-centuries to aid South Africa in scoring 354/5 in 50 overs. Much like Bavuma, South Africa all-rounders Dwaine Pretorius and Andile Phehlukwayo had also made their ODI debut in that match.
