During the first day of the fourth Test of the ongoing England’s tour of India in Ahmedabad, English batsmen failed to get off to a strong start after captain Joe Root won the toss and chose to bat.
From being unsure with respect to their strategies against India all-rounder Axar Patel to being found wanted against India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj, the first hour saw England getting reduced to 30/3.
While opening batsman Dom Sibley (2) and Zac Crawley (9) were dismissed by Patel as he continued his golden spree in the format, Root (5) was undone by a praiseworthy in-swinging delivery from Siraj.

Under immense pressure, batsman Jonny Bairstow and vice-captain Ben Stokes are in the middle of a 31-run partnership for the fourth wicket. The visitors would be hoping for the experienced pair to stitch a much-needed archetype rescue act.
For Stokes, things got heated right after his arrival in the middle as he was seen arguing with India captain Virat Kohli for some unknown reason after the 13th over. In what seemed to have started after an exchange with Mohammed Siraj, Stokes and Kohli followed it with an animated discussion which had to be intervened by umpires Nitin Menon and Virender Sharma.
