MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni was at it again last night, bringing his game awareness skills to the fore, and asking Kohli to not take a review when the bowler, Virat and Rohit were absolutely convinced that Amla had nicked off to Bumrah.

After the rain delay in the second innings, the onus was on Duminy and Amla to take the South Africans to that total of 202 in 28 overs.

Amla though was caught in trouble early on, with Bumrah getting one to jag bag off a length, going past Amla’s bat, but clipping his pad on the way to MS Dhoni.

MS Dhoni, Bumrah and Kohli rose in unison as soon as they heard a sound, but Dhoni quickly bowed out of the appeal, as he would have noticed that the ball had actually come off the pad and not off the edge of the bat.

Virat Kohli though was convinced that he had heard something and even consulted Rohit about going for the review.

MS Dhoni though quickly signalled to Kohli that there was no bat involved and that they shouldn’t go for a review here.

Amla did get out soon enough as he holed out to Kuldeep at long off, but South Africa ended up winning the Pink ODI, as Klassen and Miller made India pay for their silly mistakes(Chahal’s no-ball and Iyer’s drop) in the middle overs.

Virat Kohli felt that India were sloppy during the second innings and did not deserve to win, as the Proteas took their chances and they paid off.

India will now face South Africa in the 5th ODI on Tuesday and will be hoping to wrap up the series there. With ABD in the side now and the Proteas looking a little comfortable against the wrist spinners, India will have to come up with a Plan B to counter the South Africans.
