Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran Take Pleasure in Playing Against CSK at MA Chidambaram Stadium

Punjab Kings all-rounders Liam Livingstone (0/16 & 40) and Sam Curran (1/46 & 29) vehemently expressed their feelings of playing an Indian Premier League match against Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium today. Popularly known as “Anbuden” among fans, the iconic Chepauk is among the stadiums which offer the best experience of both playing and witnessing an IPL match.

With CSK’s fans easily falling among the most loyal fans of an IPL franchise, the venue turns into something else in the presence of captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (13*). With the 41-year old player hitting a couple of sixes today, fans got value for their money in spite of the home team losing by 4 wickets in a last-ball thriller.

Readers must note that both Livingstone and Curran contributed in Punjab’s first victory in Chennai since 2012. While Livingstone played in the city for the first time, Curran’s only IPL match here had come four years ago. For the unversed, the latter has represented Super Kings for a couple of seasons in the IPL. Hence, him connecting more to the hosts and their fans’ ethos is understandable.

Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran Tweets

Both the English cricketers took to social media platform Twitter within minutes of each other to share their relishing experience of playing at this stadium. Words such as “some atmosphere” and “special experience” sum up their early days of playing in front of such a passionate crowd in the biggest T20 league around the world.

Liam Livingstone IPL 2023 Runs

Having played only four matches this season thus far, Livingstone is yet to find top form. Although he was credited for changing the game on a Sunday evening, the right-handed batter’s 75 runs across four outings have come at an average and strike rate of 18.75 and 138.88 respectively.

Sam Curran IPL 2023 Performance

Curran, who has also led Kings thrice in regular captain Shikhar Dhawan’s absence, has picked seven wickets at an economy and strike rate of 9.54 and 27.28 respectively in nine IPL 2023 matches. With the bat in hand, the southpaw’s 192 runs have come at an average of 27.42 and a strike rate of 143.28.

What followed for an 8-year-old was an instant adulation for both Ganguly and the sport. The optimist in him is waiting for the day when Punjab Kings will win their maiden Indian Premier League title. When not watching cricket, he is mostly found in a cinema hall watching a Punjabi movie.
