List of players registered for IPL auction 2022: IPL 2023 mini auction players list

A total of 991 players, which includes 714 Indians and 277 Overseas players have registered themselves for the Indian Premier League (IPL) mini auction ahead of IPL 2023, scheduled to take place in the South Indian city of Kochi on December 23, 2022.

To break it down further, the aforementioned list includes a total of 185 capped players, 786 uncapped players, and 20 others from the Associate Nations. Of these, there are 19 capped Indian players and 604 uncapped Indian players.

However, with only 25 being the permissible players limit in the squad of each of the ten franchises, only 87 players (including only 30 Overseas players) will be able to make it in any of these franchises, given each of them do decide to take in the maximum number.

As per ESPNCricinfo, the franchises have been handed with the December 9 deadline to decided upon the players they are interested in for the auction process.

Australia has the maximum number of overseas players registered for the auction with 57, with South Africa (52), West Indies (33), England (31), New Zealand (27), Sri Lanka (23) etc. to follow.

The big Aussie names in Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, and Pat Cummins have opted their names out of IPL 2023.

In what is a first, none of the Indian players have decided to place themselves under the maximum INR 2 Crore base price bracket for the imminent auction. In fact, a total of 21 Overseas players have registered themselves under this price bracket.

As per ESPNCricinfo, Some of the big names in this bracket include England Test skipper Ben Stokes, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, former West Indies White-ball captain Nicholas Pooran, Australia’s Cameron Green, England’s Sam Curran, James Neesham etc.

Some of the capped Indians under the INR 1 Crore base price bracket include Mayank Agarwal, Manish Pandey, and Kedar Jadhav. While the likes of Ajinkya Rahane (INR 50 Lakh) and Ishant Sharma (75 Lakh) have reduced their base price this time around.
