It has to be said that Rashid is one of the best players to ever play in the competition, and if not against Stars, he will definitely reach the milestone as he is quite ahead of the other players on the list. Khan is just three wickets away from reaching the milestone.
Rashid made his debut in BBL 07 and has played in every season since then for the Adelaide Strikers. In 66 matches so far, he has scalped 97 wickets at an economy of 6.35. Perth Scorchers’ pacer AJ Tye is the fastest to reach 100 BBL wickets, and he achieved the target in 72 matches.

Rashid Khan is just three wickets away from reaching the milestone, and he said that he wants to do that on the New Year’s eve match against Melbourne Stars at the Adelaide Oval. Melbourne’s batting is struggling to get going, and it will be a golden chance for the leg-spinner.
Rashid said that it will be a dream for him to reach the milestone at the Adelaide Oval as the home ground has always been great for the side, and the atmosphere will be special as well. He although said that his priority is to help his team win the match as the Strikers have lost their last couple of matches.
“If I get those three wickets … that will be more than a dream for me,” Rashid Khan said as quoted by cricket.com.au.
“In my mind, in the last three to four games, that if I take wickets, get to 97, 98, 99, something like that just to make sure it’s New Year’s Eve game I take that (100th) wicket.”
“We always get a good crowd and support so I feel if I take that 100th wicket New Year’s evening it will be a special feeling.”
Last year, Rashid became the fastest player to reach 100 wickets in T20I cricket breaking the record of Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga. He is the 2nd fastest to reach 100 T20 wickets just behind DJ Bravo.
