North Sydney Oval Cricket Ground records: North Sydney Oval average score in T20 and highest successful run chase

January 4th, 2023 will be a historic day for the North Sydney Oval in Sydney. The ground is set to host its first-ever Men’s BBL game, where Sydney Sixers will take on Brisbane Heat. North Sydney Oval is sold out for the same, and the atmosphere is expected to be electric.

Both teams met each other recently on Sunday as well where Brisbane Heat got the victory. Sydney will be playing in their home city, and they would want to take advantage of it. Despite the defeat, it is safe to say that Sydney Sixers is one of the best teams in the tournament.

This match can be the last one for quite a few overseas players of Brisbane Heat before they head out to play in other tournaments. Brisbane Heat will look to register a win in this match as well.

North Sydney Oval Cricket Ground records

North Sydney Oval in Sydney is not a regular venue for the Men’s division. This ground has just hosted a couple of Men’s T20 matches so far, and that too were in 2006. New South Wales played one match against Victoria and one against Queensland. They lost against Victoria and won against Queensland. New South Wales’ chase of 168 runs against Queensland is the highest T20 chase at this ground.

Brad Hodge scored centuries in one of those games, which proves that batting was not tough here, but it won’t be practical enough to judge the pitch by the matches played 16 years ago here. It is interesting that Moises Henriques and Daniel Christian played in those matches, and they are still here.

However, this ground has been a regular venue for the WBBL matches, a total of 8 matches were played in the last season as well. The average 1st innings score in WBBL matches here has been 151 runs, which is fairly decent. It is to be noted that the stats of Women’s cricket can vary a lot from Men’s cricket.
