"Our players won't sit around and think": Trevor Bayliss confident of Sydney Thunder comeback vs Melbourne Renegades after record-breaking loss vs Adelaide Strikers

The BBL 12 match between Sydney Thunder and Adelaide Strikers at the Sydney Showground Stadium was an iconic one where Sydney Thunder got all-out at the lowest score in the history of T20 cricket. After a record defeat, the Thunder side will now face the Renegades this Sunday.

Sydney Thunder got all out for just 15 runs against the Adelaide Strikers, and this surprised everyone around the globe. Chasing the target of 140 runs, the batters of Sydney Thunder had no clue how to face the wrath of Adelaide Strikers’ seamers. The duo of Henry Thornton and Wes Agar combined for 9 wickets between them.

After such a cruel defeat, it will be interesting to see that how the Sydney Thunder side will be able to come back in the tournament. This type of defeat can take a toll on the players, but Trevor Bayliss is confident about the team’s comeback.

Trevor Bayliss confident of Sydney Thunder comeback

Sydney Thunder coach Trevor Bayliss has said that he is thankful that the match against Renegades is coming so quickly for the side. After a horrific game against Adelaide Strikers, Bayliss believes that more time between the games would have been bad for the players as overthinking is not at all correct ahead of any game.

Bayliss also had a lot of praise for the Melbourne Renegades, and he called them a really tough side to play against. He insists that the morale of Sydney Thunder players won’t go down as there is a lot of talent in the team, and they just have to play with positive intent in order to win matches.

“Thankfully we have a game on Sunday, so that means our players won’t sit around and think about what happened – they can right the wrong,” Trevor Bayliss said.

“The Renegades have some good players, and what we’ve seen from the start of this season is each of the eight teams can beat the others.”

Bayliss was happy with the formation of the squad as he believes that all the international signings are brilliant, whereas the rest of the players have also proved themselves in the competition.
