RCB vs CSK Man of the Match Today: Who Won MOTM Award at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in IPL 2023 Match 24?

Chennai Super Kings beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 8 runs in Indian Premier League 2023 Match 24 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. A high-scoring contest witnessed a grand total of 400+ runs, four half-centuries and 33 sixes across both the innings. The match will be remembered for batters hitting joint-highest number of sixes in the history of the IPL.

Royal Challengers, who eventually fell short by 8 runs, missed out on an opportunity of sealing the highest successful run-chase in the biggest T20 league around the world.

That said, the home team giving a tough competition to the opposition called for a memorable contest. Captain Faf du Plessis (62) and all-rounder Glenn Maxwell (76) sharing a 61-ball 126-run partnership for the third wicket had put them ahead of Super Kings at one point in time but lack of contributions from the lower-order hurt them towards the end.

A maniac display of batting involved Maxwell scoring 76 (36) with the help of three fours and eight sixes at a strike rate of 211.11. du Plessis, meanwhile, hit five fours and four sixes in his 33-ball 62.

With du Plessis winning the toss and opting to bowl first, the visitors put on board a formidable 226/6 in 20 overs. Batters Devon Conway (83) and Shivam Dube (52) joined hands for a match-winning 37-ball 80-run third-wicket partnership to put the team in a commanding position in an away match.

Conway, 31, scored his 38th T20 half-century and fifth IPL half-century to be the top-scorer among both the teams. Unlike the other three half-centurions, the left-handed batter is not known for his big-hitting skills. However, he relied heavily on his natural game to achieve success tonight. Backing his instincts, Conway played at a strike rate of 184.44 in spite of treating the bowlers on merit on the back of numerous classy shots.

“Been very happy with the way things went tonight. My recipe is simple – play good cricket shots. Don’t wanna be too predictable, so will try to hit bowlers off their lengths,” Conway told host broadcaster Star Sports Network during the post-match presentation ceremony.
