Sydney Showground Stadium pitch report: THU vs SCO today BBL match pitch report batting or bowling

The 39th league match of the BBL12 will be played between Sydney Thunder and Perth Scorchers at the Sydney Showground Stadium in Sydney. This stadium has produced some really exciting contests, and the track will again be looked at with great interest.

Sydney Thunder have won five of their nine games in the tournament so far, and they have played some decent cricket in the tournament. Alex Hales will be missing the rest of the tournament, and he will be a very big miss. It will be interesting to see how the other batters will fare without Hales.

Perth Scorchers have won seven of their nine games in the tournament, and they are certainly the best team of BBL12 so far. The duo of Jason Behrendorff and AJ Tye will love bowling on this track. This team’s batting unit is also coming along nicely, and it will be really tough to beat them.

Sydney Showground Stadium pitch report

Sydney Showground Stadium will be hosting its 4th match of the ongoing BBL season, and it is safe to say that this is the least favourable batting ground of the tournament so far. In all three games played here, the bowlers have dominated, and the same can be expected in this match as well.

The average 1st innings BBL12 score here has been just 132 runs which tells the story of this ground. On this very ground, Sydney Thunder got out on a world-record score of 15 runs. In the initial overs of the match, the pacers are getting a lot of help from the new ball, and they will be really important again in this match.

The outfield of this ground is fast, whereas the boundaries also are not that huge. If the batters can settle down, they can score big runs. Alex Hales and Matthew Gilkes have proved that it is possible to score runs here. Considering the conditions, the captains may opt to bowl first after winning the toss.
