Vivo IPL 2021 schedule and fixtures: When and where will Indian Premier League matches be played?

Vivo IPL 2021 schedule and fixtures: The SportsRush present for you full list of fixtures of Indian Premier League 2021.

It is almost that time of the year when cricket fans across the country will be cheering not for India but their favourite Indian Premier League team. Come April 9, defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore will set the ball rolling with respect to the 14th season of the biggest T20 league.

The 52-day tournament will be played across six venues namely Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. Ahmedabad, which has the refurbished Narendra Modi Stadium as the biggest cricket stadium in the world, will host eight league matches before hosting knockout phase of IPL 2021.

Among the eight franchises, Hyderabad, Mohali and Jaipur haven’t been allotted any matches to minimize travel in times of the COVID-19 pandemic. To further reduce the travel, each team will only play at four venues. In simple words, each team will travel only thrice during the league stage.

In another novel change, this season will become the first IPL season being played in India where teams won’t be playing at home venues. The same has been done to ensure that teams not playing on their home ground don’t lose out on the advantage throughout the season.
